Support Time Line:

Fixed Assets Version 3.0.x. This program will be supported on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 for the lifetimes of those operating systems. (DAO 3.6 database with VB6 and Dot Net). Microsoft will not support VB6 on Windows 8 (due late 2012), so Version 3.0.x will not work on Windows 8 except inside a virtual computer running an earlier operating system.

SQL Server Versions under development.

Fixed Assets Version 4.0: This will be a SQLServer version, to be released (at the latest) in early 2012. This is an intermediate development before a full Dot Net upgrade. This version has the same support lifetimes as for version 3.0. (SQLServer 2008 database with VB6 and Dot.Net)

JUly 2011 Status: The SQLServer test version is working, and being optimised for SQLServer 2008.

Fixed Assets Version 5.0: This version will be the first to work on Windows 8 (Due end of 2012). It will be entirely written in Dot.Net using SQLServer 2008.
