Set calendar year

The Set calendar year window is used to enter and maintain information about financial years.

To edit a financial year's details, click on the Edit year button on the Calendar window. This window is also used for setting up new years, if the New year button is clicked.

Accounting year

The year to be edited or created. By default, each financial year is determined by the closing date for the year; some companies may use the opening date instead.

Opening date

The opening date for the financial year.

Months in this year

The number of months in the year. This is normally twelve, but can be set to more or fewer if necessary, such as for changing a company's balance date.

Closed for data entry

Closed years do not allow data entry or any modifications to asset details. Select this option to mark the year as closed.
